Shitajiki

Shitajiki (aka Pencil Boards) are typically hard plastic, measure approximately 7¼ in x 10¼ in, and, in the case of the boards I collect, show images from various anime and/or manga.

An interesting fact, to me anyways, is that many of the codes for identifying the boards are comprised of the month and year: for instance, 0602 is June of 2002. I have two boards that go back to 1988 and one that's from 1989. All are from series by Rumiko Takahashi.  One Pound Gospel is 1188YK (November 1988); Maison Ikkoku is 1288KY (December 1988); and Ranma ½ is 1298A (December 1989).

I have, at present, sixty-one Sailormoon shitajiki, spanning all five seasons as well as some from various musicals, and over a hundred from other anime series including Fushigi Yuugi, Inu Yasha, Magic Knight Rayearth, Gravitation, Tsubasa, and many more. Throw in a few more because they were pretty / intriguing and nothing to do with series I watched.
Like the rest of this site I hope to provide a resource for those who may be new to the hobby.
